Day to day Benefits: 

Day-to-day medical expenses such as GP and specialist consults, acute medicine, radiology, pathology, optometry and dentistry are paid from the available funds in your savings account, which is 15% of your monthly contribution. There is an added INSURED DAY-TO-DAY BENEFITS of; M= R1 250 per annum; M+ = R2 500 per annum, which is available after depletion of savings account. This benefit is limited to GP and specialist consultations, acute and self-medication and physiotherapy only

Upfront Payments to hospitals: 

If you choose to be admitted to an out-of-network hospital, or if you use a facility outside of the Day Surgery network for certain procedures, Medihelp will only cover 65% of the cost. You will be responsible for the other 35%. Procedural co-payments may apply to admissions; full details in the 2021 brochure

Preventative Care Benefits
Preventative Benefits: 

Health screening, HIV testing, counselling and support, tetanus and flu vaccine at Clicks or Dischem. Oral/injectable or implantable contraceptives for woman up to 50 years: R125 per month to max of R1 500 per annum or intra-uterine device R2 200 per 60 months. Age and frequency specific tests for pneumovax vaccine and faecal occult blood test, Women: pap smear, mammogram and bone mineral density scan; Men: prostate specific antigen. Babies < 1 yr receive 2 visits to a GP or specialist. 2 x HPV vaccines for boys and girls 10-14 yrs or 3 x between 15-26 yrs. Standard child immunisations up to 7 yrs at Clicks or Dischem clinics and child flu vaccines
